Premature failure issues with these Ford engine wet belts have been widely publicised for many years, and a recent BBC The One Show (February 2024) further highlighted two more recent cases.

Ford recommends the wet belts in these engines – 1.0 EcoBoost and 2.0 EcoBlue – be replaced every 10 years or 150,000 miles, but many owners of these vehicles are experiencing failure long before these milestones.
